We are excited to announce our first ever cosplayer guest: Skylar Urbaniak!

Skylar Urbaniak, aka Lyeric, is a cosplayer from Prince Albert, SK. Skylar has been cosplaying for the last 3 years, specializes in cosplay armor, and is best known for her Diablo 3 Barbarian armor set. Her cosplays have reached an international scale, have been published in magazines as well as featured on numerous websites, and have earned her the title of a ‘Crunchyroll Ambassador’.

Skylar’s main goal while cosplaying is to help break common cosplay stereotypes and encourage others to start cosplay no matter who they are. So if armored cosplay is something that piques your interest make sure to go to her panel “Armor Cosplay for Beginners” happening at Blitz!

Without further adieu we have a featured guest announcement for you: Don Sparrow!

Don Sparrow is a writer and illustrator in Saskatoon. Over his ten-year career, Don’s retro-comics inspired work has been featured in numerous publications, including Computer Arts UK, NUVO, Ohio Magazine and several others. His artwork has been shown in exhibitions in Hamilton, Oakville, Saskatoon’s Mendel Art Gallery, and most recently in Vancouver’s Seymour Art Gallery.

Closer to home, he has been voted Saskatoon’s Best Artist three years running in Planet S Magazine.

Having previously been a featured guest at the WizardWorld Toronto Comic-Con, Don is pleased to once again take part in a great event so close to home.

We are pleased to welcome Elaine Will to Saskatoon Blitz 2013!

Elaine has been drawing comics since she was five years old and self-publishing since 2002! Her graphic novel serial Look Straight Ahead is a 2011 Joe Shuster Award nominee and a 2012 Xeric Award winner. She also draws the comic strip On the Bus which appears every Friday in Verb magazine. Elaine currently resides here in Saskatoon.

Those who have been following the website back in Fall 2012, will recall the announcement of a concert element to Blitz 2013!!
